The Old Time Country Radio
Show
All this together makes the show even more unique. The Old Time Country Radio Show was created by Paul Jones and Pete Crim in February of 1998 on radio station WEKR in Fayetteville, Tennessee. The show was then moved to WLIJ in Shelbyville, Tennessee, which has a 5000 watt AM stereo signal that covers all or part of 30 counties in Middle Tennessee and reaching all the way from North Alabama into South Central Kentucky. Pete Crim soon moved on to other interests but Paul Jones has continued on with the show and with the help of Walter Farrar, Johnny Murray, Paul Stroud, Ken Fly, and others who just drop by to help out with the picking and singing. It just gets better all the time. There is always a large crowd at the show. Some come back week after week while others are visitors to Lynchburg from all over the world. Paul features a different band each week. Some are local bands or individuals who live in and around Southern Tennessee and North Alabama. Others are more well known like the Hagar Twins, stars of the TV show Hee Haw or Grand Ole Opry star Charlie Louvin or Kenny Gill, who played guitar for many years with the world famous Governor of Louisiana, Mr. Jimmie Davis. Some of the guest will drive from as far away as Chicago, Illinois, like Larry Diemer and Larry Kernagis, The Don't Be Brothers and others from Nashville, Tennessee or Birmingham, Alabama. Whoever the guests are, with the help of the House Band and Reese Kimmons on the sound board, it always proves to be a great show with lots of good music, fun and laughter. The Old Time Country Radio show is a live remote broadcast on WLIJ 1580 AM stereo in ShelbyvilleTennessee. Broadcasting every Saturday morning at 10:00 AM from the BBQ Caboose Café located on the Southwest corner of the square in beautiful downtown Lynchburg, Tennessee Ya'll come to see us now, Ya Hear!
